During a lecture today, several case studies were shown on child labor. One of which was on the kids who worked on the jermal - something like kelongs. They catch ikan bilis which we in Singapore consume. We are not the only countries Indonesia exports to of course, but I kinda gulped when I realised that those ikan bilis that I hated so much, was caught with so much effort by kids much much younger and poorer than I.
Anyway, I found a link to a similar story.

Makes me realise that a handfull of ikan bilis, is soo cheap to us for a reason. And it's not just about currency rates, but that many of these kids are not even paid.
