Weird Tutorial room in Uni

I just found these two photos in my laptop. One day, my coursemate and I were searching for an empty tutorial room to study for the exams. We found one... but we couldn't find the light switch! We went into the dark room, feeling the walls, bumped into the chairs and tables, tried to search by the light of my phone and my coursemate's lighter... still no switch!

We went outside, thinking the switch was outside... nothing...

I thought maybe the switch was in the generator room next door... my friend laughed at my ignorance... but tried it anyway.

So in we went stumbling over chairs and tables, feeling the walls again... till my friend with a stroke of genius, reached down at the side and flicked a switch.

So where's the switch?? Normal people would wire the switch at the pillar on the right, somewhere at chest level...

But NOOOooo... This is THE Famed university of engineering students! Where do we wire our switches???
